A Quick Guide to Engine Degreasing, with Biostrip

And thanks to FUZE, the entire process can be easily done in well under an hour - using no hazardous chemicals or solvents, from a heavy-duty, water-based degreaser that WON'T damage your surrounding paintwork.

Here's how - in three simple steps!

1 - Preparation

The first step in restoring your engine to its former glory is to get rid of any debris and dirt  that has become trapped under the bonnet. No matter how careful a motorist you are, leaves, dirt and other debris are commonly found beneath the bonnet, and are simply picked up during your daily drives. A simple brush should remove these.
Next, its important to quickly prepare the surface; ensuring that any spark plug openings, sensors, electrical devices or any other area where water is likely to gather are securely covered. Plastic bags are a great way to do this, and since the engine area should already be waterproof, the bags are only for extra protection (it's not essential to make the area watertight).

2 - Applying FUZE Engine Degreaser

Start with the lower areas and work your way steadily upwards to prevent the degreaser from dripping on you.
Once the engine degreaser has been applied, leave it for a few minutes to soak in to the area. Five to ten minutes will easily be enough time for this to take effect. For a little build-up of grease, a brush should not be needed to aid the grease removal, but for heavier grime, a long-handled brush is sometimes recommended to agitate the grease during this period.

3 - Removing FUZE Engine Degreaser

Removing the degreaser is just as simple as applying it. The quickest and most effective way to do this is to hose down the entire engine and surrounding surfaces with water. Take care not to place the nozzle of the hose too close to any electrical components or connectors. When drying, turn your engine on for a few minutes. Not only will the engine's heat aid the drying process, it will also prevent any waterspots forming on the engine, which can happen when the engine is left to air dry.

And that's all there is to it!
