Black Mould

Black Mould

What is Black Mould?

Black mold is the name more commonly used for Stachybotrys chartarum. It can grow in houses and is extremely dangerous to humans. Stachybotrys is known as a toxic mold because it produces toxins called mycotoxins.

How to Remove Black Mould

It is important to never try to scrape dry mould off the wall as this can release spores. Before removing black mould  it is important to ensure that it will not return. To do this you must make the environment it would typically live in difficult to inhabit. The most common place to find black mould is in showers and bathrooms as the mould thrives in damp, humid conditions. Therefore the best way is to prevent condensation building up in the room by using a high air flow extractor fan. Once you have taken measures to try to prevent regrowth it is important to remove the black mould using a non-hazardous product such as FUZE MouldKill, which will remove the Mould effortlessly. The mould will then have usually gone within 24 hours of treatment.
