Using Damp Proof Paint
Damp proof paint is formulated to protect against damp interior wall surfaces. This type of paint can also be used as a primer underneath other decorative paints such as gloss
Note - damp proofing should NOT be used as an alternative to solving underlying damp problems. Damp must be treated correctly before damp proof paint is applied. Areas of concern should be investigated by a professional.
Before the paint is applied, the affected area must be clean. Old paint and coatings must be removed. The area must then be free from mould, fungi, lichen and any other contamination before application. A mould remover such as MOGO Mould Remover can be used for this, simply apply the solution and wash the mould and dirt away.
We recommend MOGO Damp Seal, a product which can be used on a variety of surfaces for damp proofing.
MOGO Damp Seal can be applied to:
  • Concrete
  • Wallpaper
  • Plaster
MOGO Damp Seal has a consistency similar to emulsion paint and can be applied to the surface with a brush, roller or spray. It usually dries to a clear finish within an hour. One coat is all that is required in most applications.
MOGO Damp Seal is a safe to use, non toxic product and does not cause staining to the treated substrate.
