3 Simple steps to removing rust

100% acid free and non corrosive Rust Go utilises intelligent formulation technology to deliver outstanding results.
All of our Products are manufactured in the United Kingdom with the highest quality raw materials available today. Allowing us to maintain strict quality control standards. Environmental Awareness is a key issue in our manufacturing process, and as such, our products contain no lead, no zinc, no chromates, no heavy metals, no VOCs, are biodegradable and made from naturally derived, sustainable material sources.

Step 1 : Preparation

The first step in any DIY project is to ensure that the surface you are going to treat is ready. Where rust is concerned remove all loose debris with a good quality wire brush. Taking care not to damage the surface.

Step 2 : Treatment

Whether you are using the gel or immersion application is simple. For the Gel brush on with a good quality paint brush. For immersion pour Rust Go into your immersion bowl (an old washing up bowl will do) and then place the object carefully into the liquid.
Top Tips: We would recommend warming Rust Go to about 30c which will deliver quicker results than just using at standard ambient room temperature.

Step 3 : Clean

Once all the rust has dissolved all that you need to do is wash the surface with clean water and a quality surface cleaner such as FUZE Hard Surface Cleaner to remove any residue. Once completed you are now ready to paint, prime or finish in any way you choose.

Safe and Simple to dispose of

Easy to dispose of water based composition. Rust go is the only water based acid free remover on the market that is safe to dispose of down the drain. Once you have finished with it you can just wash it down the drain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it as strong as acid based removers?

Yes and in some instances stronger. Just because we do not use acid as our key ingredient does not mean it is not effective. In the same way that our Durostrip range of paint strippers are non caustic relying on a highly sophisticated water based formulations to create excellent results. Rust Go has been professionally formulated to not just work, but to potentially be the best on the market. We wouldnt be selling it if it didnt do the job well, you can trust us on that.

Can I use it indoors?

Absolutely this solution is clean and safe to use indoors. Unlike most other rust removers on the market Rust Go is non-flammable, non-corrosive, non-explosive and contains no harmful and toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Is it safe around children and animals?

Yes it is safe to use around children and animals. However in the same way you would be careful using household cleaner around your family the same caution should be practised with Rust Go. It is a clear liquid as we do not use any unnecessary colourings or additives.

What happens if I accidentally get it on my skin?

As with most household cleaning products the first thing you should do is wash the area with clean water. However unlike acid based cleaners you should not receive any damage or burns from coming into contact with Rust Go. All FUZE products are also free from unnecessary additives and perfumes which have been known to cause allergic reactions. We would always recommend that you would wear rubber gloves in the same way as you should when using normal household cleaners as a standard precaution.

How long will it take to remove my rust?

This may be our most common question and the hardest to answer. It all depends on the amount of rust to begin with. Rust Go begins to dissolve rust on contact and will provide visible results within minutes. Depending upon the layers and size of rust will have an impact on the time it takes to completely remove it from the surface. That said however ours is one of the fastest products on the market. We would always recommend leaving the surface until all rust has visibly disappeared. In high rust areas a second treatment may be required.
